UW-Fond du Lac campus dean accepts new position

4-2-2009—UW-Fond du Lac Dean and CEO Daniel J. Blankenship, Ph.D., has announced he will be leaving the campus to accept the position of Executive Vice President and Provost at Cardinal Stritch University in Milwaukee.

Dr. Blankenship will remain at UW-Fond du Lac until the end of the spring semester and is expected to begin his duties at Cardinal Stritch University this summer.

Serving as Campus Dean of UW-Fond du Lac since July of 2002, Dr. Blankenship is also a tenured professor of biology within the UW Colleges. He is active in several area organizations serving on the UW-Fond du Lac Foundation Board of Directors, Fond du Lac Noon Rotary Board, Fond du Lac Arts Council Board and the Association of Commerce Leadership Fond du Lac Steering Committee.

He led the campus during a time of increasing enrollments, expansion of bachelor’s degree completion programs and creation of the new FastTrack program of accelerated blended courses for adult students.

Plans are still being finalized at this time for the search for a new campus dean and the appointment of an interim campus dean.
