UW-Fond du Lac launches new
FastTrack degree program;
adult student information session set for
May 12
4/28/2009 – Area adults interested in
returning to school and continuing their
education can find out more about the new
FastTrack
degree completion program at UW-Fond du Lac
during a special information session, 6-8 p.m.
on Tuesday, May 12, in the LGI Room (UC-114) at
the campus, 400 University Dr., Fond du Lac.
Designed specifically with adult students in
mind, the FastTrack degree program is a series
of six to eight week accelerated evening courses
delivered in a blended format which combines
face-to-face classroom time with an online
component.
Students in the FastTrack program can earn an
Associate
of Arts and Science Degree with a business
focus in two years by devoting two nights per
week to classes during the fall and spring
semesters and by taking additional classes over
two summers.
Courses in the FastTrack program are offered
on Tuesday and Thursday evenings. Students cover
the same amount of material as in a traditional
15-week course, but in less time.
FastTrack tuition is
identical to the cost of other courses offered
at UW-Fond du Lac.
Tuition
is currently frozen at 2006 levels and is
$191.02 per credit for part-time students. A
typical three-credit course would be $573.06.
FastTrack students may receive financial aid, if
eligible.
At the information session, Jackie Morgan,
UW-Fond du Lac’s adult student advisor, will
provide an overview of the admissions process
for adult students and offer advice for some of
the special challenges facing returning adult
students including balancing family, job and
education; managing finances; fitting in with
traditional age students and building confidence
in the ability to do school work.
Morgan will also review the requirements of
the UW-Fond du Lac Associate of Arts and Science
Degree and the
bachelor’s
degree completion programs available thru
the campus.
Pre-registration for the information session
is requested
either online or by calling (920) 929-1122.
