New faculty members at
UW-Fond du Lac campus
Posted 9/9/09. – Two tenure-track faculty
members have joined the University of
Wisconsin-Fond du Lac campus community this
semester.
Maggie May,
assistant professor of mathematics, has been an
instructor on the campus since 2007. Prior to
that, she taught at Marian University and
UW-Milwaukee. Professor May studied Geometric
Topology at UW-Milwaukee and received her Ph.D.
in 2007. Known for making math a vibrant and
exciting subject, May was a recipient of the
Ernst Schwandt Award for Outstanding Teaching
Performance at UW-Milwaukee.
Tirza
Shulman, assistant professor of psychology,
taught psychology at UW-Marinette for three
years prior to coming to UW-Fond du Lac.
Professor Shulman earned her Ph.D. from Kansas
State University. Her primary area of interest
in psychology is the relationship between the
Big 5 personality traits and emotion regulation.
UW-Fond du Lac is one of the 13
UW Colleges,
the freshman/sophomore campuses of the UW
System, serving 13,000 students across the
state.
